The SHS Dual Sector Gear and nozzle plate kit is based on the Dual Sector Gear (DSG) concept developed by Siegetek. The Dual Sector Gear refers to a different type of firing gear than the traditional sector gear, which fires and cocks the piston twice in one revolution. Thus, the DSG gear theoretically doubles the rate of fire of the weapon.
The DSG gear significantly changes the operation of the airsoft gun and for this reason their installation also requires modification of the mechanism parts. With the DSG gear, the piston toothing must be changed to match the toothing of the new gear. With the DSG gear, the piston stroke is shortened, which limits the maximum length of the inner barrel and lowers the muzzle velocity of the gun.
Installing a DSG gear requires a deep understanding of how the airsoft gun works and upgrading other parts of the mechanism so that the mechanism can withstand the additional load brought about by the DSG installation.
