Description
The Polarstar Kythera HPA system represents a completely new direction compared to all previous systems produced by PolarStar, as the Kythera does not use batteries, FCU or any electronics. The Kythera is completely mechanical. This means that with the Kythera you do not have to worry about charging batteries or handling sensitive electronic components. It also means that the system is completely waterproof. The Kythera is designed very intelligently and its functions have been implemented in a very small amount of components.
Realistic trigger
The Kythera system has been designed from the ground up to achieve a realistic trigger feel. The trigger mechanism is designed to mimic the action, weight and feel of a real single-action firearm trigger. It feels real because it is real. Hardened alloy steel joints engage a stainless steel valve and when the trigger is pulled, the mechanical parts fire it in the same way that a real firearm's hammer locking detent releases the hammer. This gives the Kythera trigger a distinct front pull and threshold. The Kythera SA trigger mechanism also features a fine-tuning feature that allows you to adjust the weight and travel of the trigger pull. The trigger mechanism is spring-loaded, so the trigger is not affected by the pressure applied to the regulator.
Complete trigger cycle
The Kythera SA design allows for a complete firing cycle with every trigger pull. This provides the closed bolt performance that has been proven to be highly effective and provide excellent accuracy in the Fusion Engine and F2 systems. The Kythera offers the same performance in a fully mechanical and waterproof package with a realistic trigger. The Kythera does not require the trigger to be released before the nozzle loads the next shot and fills the internal pressure chamber with air for the next shot. This occurs automatically and smoothly with each shot. The nozzle's trajectory is not tied to the trigger pull, but its dwell time in the forward position and its return speed to the rear position can be adjusted separately.
Because the system resets and reloads immediately after a shot, it is ready to fire again before the trigger is released from the previous shot, making a double feed error extremely unlikely.
Extremely good efficiency and smooth operation
The design of the Kythera valve works in such a way that there is no need to control the opening or closing of the valve. If the pilot valve that controls the position of the larger valve is not lowered, 100% of the air supplied to the system is shot out through the nozzle, which means that the air supplied to the mechanism is used effectively to fire the bullet and not to rotate the mechanism of the mechanism. In addition, the operation of the system is extremely smooth. The valve of the mechanism is released with each shot at the same point and with the same force, regardless of the pull of the trigger.
Universal Charging Cord
The steel wire visible at the back of the Kythera system is attached to the internal valve charging mechanism. In normal mode, the pressure from the regulator automatically charges the mechanism valve. The charging wire is located in the mechanism so that if the pressure supplied to the Kythera drops too low and the pressure does not actuate the valve, the valve can be mechanically actuated using the wire. This usually only happens if the system has been used completely without pressure, in which case the pressure drops below the operating range of the system. The wire is designed to be placed in an easily accessible location inside the gun body or alternatively it can be attached to the gun's charging handle.
Easy installation
The Kythera SA system is installed inside a standard gear box as a single unit and generally does not require modifications to the gear box housing. No separate parts need to be installed inside the gear box and the only parts that need to be retained from the original gear box are the trigger, spring guide, selector and safety components.
Wide output speed and power adjustment range
The Kythera has a wide operating pressure range from 60 psi to 180 psi, which allows for fine-tuning of the power developed by the system for different applications. Within this pressure range, the weapon can be set to fire a 6.05x380 mm barrel with a 0.20 g bullet at 82-152m/s. This allows a single Kythera to be used in any role from close combat to marksmanship by adjusting the air rig supply pressure.
